Spanish and Italian on opposite pages

Originally planned to contain three parts, devoted to lyric, epic and dramatic poetry respectively. It was to include poetry from Boscan to the author's time chronologically arranged in each part. cf. Prólogo, v. 1, p. xxxii-xxxv. Parts 2-3 were never published, and pt. 1 is incomplete, stopping with the Argensolas. The poetry of each author is preceded by a brief biography
