And when they were full, she said to one of her sons : Bring me another vessel: but he said to her: I have no more: and the oil stopped. Then she came and told the man of God; and he said : Go, and fell the oil, and pay thy creditor ; and live thou and thy chil dren of the rest.

Matt. xviii. 15, 22. AT

T that time : Jesus said to his disciples : If thy

brother offend against thee, go, and tell him of his fault between thee and him alone. If he give ear to thee, thou wilt have gained thy brother. But if he will not hearken to thee, take with thee one or two more, that every thing may be testified by two or three witnesses.

And if he will not hear them; tell the Church. And if he will not hear the Church, let him be to thee as the heatben or the publican. Amen I say to you: Whatsoever you shall bind on earth, shall be bound also in heaven; and whatsoever you shall loose on earth, thall be loosed also in heaven. Again I say to you: If two of you shall agree on earth, concerning whatsoever thing they shall ask, it shall be granted them by my Father, who is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them. Then Peter drew near him, and said: Lord, how often shall my brother offend against me, and I forgive him? Till seven times ! Jesus faith to him: I say not to bee till seven times; but till seventy times seven.

Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house : neither shalt thou covet his wife, nor his man-fervant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is his. And all the people perceived the voices, and the lightening, and the sound of the trumpet, and smoaking mountain : and, being affrighted and ftruck with terror, they stood afar off, and said to Moses : Speak thou to us, and we will hear thee ; but let not the Lord speak to us, left perchance we die. And Mofes said to the people : Fear not; for God is come to try you, and to make you fear him, that you may fin no more. And the people stood afar off, and Mofes drew near the dark cloud, where God was. And the Lord said to Moses: Thus shalt thou speak to the children of Israel: You have seen that I have spoke to you from hea

GOSPEL.' Matt. xv. 1, 20. AT that time :, The Scribes and Pharisees came

from Jerusalem to Jesus, and said to him: Why do thy disciples transgress the traditions of the elders ? For they wash not their hands, when they eat bread. And he answering, said to them: Why do you transgress even the commandment of God for your tradition? For God hath faid: Honour & thy father and mother. And: He that curseth fa

ther or mother, let him be put to death. But you say: Whoever shall say to father or 'mother; Whatsoever I shall offer, shall profit thee; and thus needeth not to honour his father or mother : and thus you have made void the commandment of God for your tradition. O you hypocrites ! Well did Ifaias prophesy of you, saying: This people honour me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. But they worship me in vain, teaching the doctrines and commandments of men. And, having called the people to him, he said to them : Hear, and understand. That which goeth into the mouth defileth not a man : but that defileth a man, that cometh out of the mouth. Then his disciples came, and said to him: Knoweft thou that the Pharisees have been scandalized at hearing what thou hast faid? And he answering, said: Every plant which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. "Let them alone: blind they are, and leaders of the blind. And if one blind man lead another blind man, they both fall into the ditch. Then Peter answering, said to him: Expound to us this parable. And he said: Are you also as yet without understanding? Know you not, that whatever goeth into the mouth, paffeth into the belly, and is cast out into the privy? But the things that proceed out of the mouth, come from the heart, and these defile a man: for out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false-witneffings, blafphemies. These are the things that defile a man; but to eat with unwashed bands, doth not defile a man,
