That it may please thee to bring into the way of truth all such as have erred and are deceived;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD!

That it may please thee to strengthen such as do stand; to comfort and encourage the weak-hearted; to raise up those who fall; and, finally, to give unto all the victory over every temptation;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD! That it may please thee to succour, comfort and relieve all those who are in any kind of danger, distress, or tribulation; We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD!

That it may please thee to preserve all those who travel by land or by water; all women labouring with child; all sick persons, and young children, and to show compassion upon all prisoners and captives;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD!

That it may please thee to defend and provide for all fatherless children, and widows, all who are desolate and oppressed, and, especially all those, who suffer for the truth, and for righteousness-sake;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD! That it may please thee to bless and preserve

preserve, and to show mercy unto all men; We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD! That it may please thee to forgive our enemies, persecutors, and slanderers; and to turn their hearts;

We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD! That it may please thee to give, and preserve to our use, the fruits of the earth, so that in due time we may enjoy them; We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD!

That it may please thee to accept our sincere repentance, to forgive us all our sins, negligences, and ignorances; and to enable us to amend our lives according to thy holy word ;

We beseech thee to bear us, good LORD! Minister. Glory be to GOD in the highest heavens ;

People. And, the peace of his good-will to men on earth!

Then shall be read a lesson, taken out of the Old Testament; after which, the following portions of psalm cXIX. or psalm CIII.

Psalm cxIx. (part 1 and 12.)

HAPPY are those who are undefiled in the way, and walk in the law of JEHOVAH! 2 Happy

2 Happy are those who keep his testimonies and seek him with their whole ; heart!

3 For they commit no iniquity, who walk in his ways.

4 Thou, o GOD! hast commanded us diligently to keep thy precepts.

5 Oh! that my ways were so directed, that I might keep thy statutes!

6 So should I not be confounded, while I respected all thy commandments.

7 I will thank thee with an unfeigned heart, when I shall have learned thy righte ous judgments.

8 I will keep thy statutes: oh! do not entirely forsake me.

9 O JEHOVAH ! thy word endureth for ever; it is more firmly fixed than the heavens.

10 Thy truth also remaineth from one generation to another: thou didst lay the foundation of the earth, and it remaineth firm.

II They continue unto this day, according to thine ordinance; for all things obey thee.

12 If thy law had not been my delight, I should have perished in mine affliction.

13 I will never forget thy commandments; for through them thou hast given me life.

14

I am thine; o save me! for I seek thy commandments.

15 The wicked lie in wait for me to destroy me but I will attend to thy testimo

nies.

16 I see bounds and limits to every thing; but thy commandment is above measure extensive.

Now unto JEHOVAH! immortal, invisible, the only GOD;

Be honour and glory, through the gospel of Jesus Christ, for ever. Amen.

Or, psalm ci11.

PRAISE JEHOVAH ! o my soul ! and all the powers within me praise his holy name. 2 Praise JEHOVAH! O my soul! and forget not all his kindnesses.

3 Praise him, who forgiveth all thy sin; and healeth all thine infirmities;

4 Who rescueth thy life from destruc

tion; and crowneth thee with mercy and loving kindness

5 Who satisfieth thy future days with good; so that thy youth is renewed like that of an eagle.

6 JEHOVAH executeth justice and judgment; for all who are oppressed: 7 He fhewed his ways unto Moses; his works unto the children of Israel.

8 JEHOVAH is full of compassion and mercy; slow to anger, and of great good

ness:

9 He will not always be chiding; neither will he threaten us for ever:

10 He dealeth not with us according to our sins; neither repayeth us according to our iniquities:

11 But as the heavens extend over the earth; so doth his mercy extend over those who fear him.

12 As far distant also as the east is from the west; so far doth he remove our sins from us.

13 Like as a father pitieth his own children; even so doth JEHOVAH tenderly compassionate those who fear him :
