self, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy man-servant, nor thy maid-servant, nor thy cattle; nor the sojourner that is within thy gates. For in six days JEHOVAH made the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, with all that is in them; but on the seventh day he rested: for which reason, JEHOVAH hath blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it.
v Honour thy father and thy inother; that it may be well with thee, and that thy days may be prolonged upon the land which JEHOVAH, thy GOD, giveth to thee.
VI Thou shalt not commit murder.
IX Thou shalt not give a false testimony against thy neighbour.
x Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife; nor shalt thou covet thy neighbour's house, nor his field, nor his man-servant, nor his maid-servant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
HEAR also what our lord Jesus Christ saith: The first of all the commandments is, Hear, o Israel! JEHOVAH is our GOD, JEHOVAH alone; and thou shalt love JEHOVAH,
HOVAH, thy GOD, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. This is the first commandment. And the second is like unto it. Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is no other commandment greater than these." Mark xii. 29-31. Luke x. 26-28.
O GOD! have mercy upon us, and write all these thy laws in our hearts, we beseech thee.
The following Litany, or general supplication, to be said by the minister and people.
Let us pray.
O GOD! the father almighty! maker of heaven and earth, and of all things that are in them! the GOD and father of our lord Jesus Christ, and of all mankind! have. mercy upon us thine offending creatures.

From all evil and mischief, from sin, from dangerous temptations, from thy wrath, and future condemnation; Good LORD! deliver us.
From all blindness of heart, from pride, vain-glory, and hypocrisy; from envy, hatred, and malice, and from all uncharitableness; Good LORD! deliver us.
From fleshly lusts that war against the soul, and from all the deceitful allurements of this transitory world;
Good LORD! deliver us.
From lightning and tempest; from plague, pestilence, and famine; from battle and murder, and from untimely death; Good LORD! deliver us.
From all sedition, secret conspiracy and rebellion from hardness of heart, and contempt of thy word and commandment; Good LORD! deliver us.
In the time of our adversity, and in the time of our prosperity; in the hour of death, and in the day of judgment; Good LORD! deliver us.
We, thine offending creatures, do beseech thee to hear us, O JEHOVAH Our GOD! and that it may please thee to keep all thy sincere worshippers in the right way;
We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD! That it may please thee to direct and preserve in the true worshipping of thee, in righteousness and holiness of life, thy servant, George, our king and governor;
We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD! That it may please thee to guide his heart in the love and reverence of thee; that he may evermore trust in thee, and seek thine honour and glory;
We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD! That it may please thee to be his defender and preserver; and to prosper all his righteous undertakings;
We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD! That it may please thee to bless and preserve the queen, the prince and princess of Wales, and all the royal family;
We beseech thee to hear us, good LORD!
That it may please thee to bless all the ministers of thy gospel, with the true knowledge and understanding of thy word; and grant that, both by their preaching and living, they may set it forth and recommend it accordingly:
