40 So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and faid, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof, 41 But he faid, Then bring meal. And he caft it into the pot; and he faid, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.

43 And his fervitor faid, what! Should I 12 are not Abana and Pharpar. rivfet this before an hundred men? 13 And his fervants came near, and fpake unto him, and faid, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do fome great thing, Wouldeft thou not have done it? How much rather then, when he faith to thee, Wath, and be clean?

1 Naaman is cured of bis leprofy. 15 Elifba refufeth Naaman's gifts. 20 Gebazi is fmitten with leprosy. 14 Then went he down, and dipped NOW Naaman, captain of the hoft of himself feven times in Jordan, according the king of Syria, was a great man with to the faying of the man of God: and his malter, and honourable, becaufe his flesh came again like unto the flesh of by him the LORD had given deliverance a little child, and he was clean unto Syria: he was alfo a mighty man in valour, but be was a leper.

15 And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and flood before him and he faid, Be hold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Ifrael: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blefling of thy fervant. 17 And Naaman faid, Shall there not then, I pray thee, be given to thy fervant two mules' burthen of earth? For thy fervant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor facrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD.

13 In this thing the LORD pardon thy fervant, that when my mafter goeth into the boufe of Rimmon to worthip there, and he leaneth on my hand, and I bow myfelf in the houfe of Rimmon: when I bow down myself in the houfe of Rimmon, the LORD pardon thy fervant in this thing.

19 And he faid unto him, Go in peace. So he departed from him a little way.

20 But Gehazi, the fervant of Elisha the man of God, faid, Behold my master hath fpared Naaman this Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought: but, as the LORD liveth, I will run after him, and take fomewhat of him. 21 So Gehazi followed after Naaman. And when Naaman faw him running after him, he lighted down from the chariot to meet him, and faid, Is all well?

22 And he faid, All is well. My mafter hath fent me, faying, Behold, even now there be come to me from mount Ephraim two young men of the fons of the prophets: give them, I pray thee, a talent of filver, and two changes of garments.

23 And Naaman faid, Be content, take two talents. And he urged him, and bound two talents of filver in two bags, with two changes of garments and laid them upon two of his fervants; and they bare them before him.

24 And when he came to the tower, he took them from their hand and beftowed them in the houfe: and he let the men go, and they departed.

25 But he went in and stood before his mafter. And Elifba faid unto him, Whence comeft thou, Gehazi? And he faid, Thy fervant went no whither.

26 And he faid unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menfervants, and maidfervants ?

27 The leprofy therefore of Naaman fhall cleave unto thee, and unto thy feed for ever. And he went out from his prefence a leper as white as fnow.

2 Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he anfwered, Go ye.

5 And one faid, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy fervants. And he anfwered, I will go.

4 So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood.

5 But as one was felling a beam, the ax head fell into the water; and he cried, and faid, Alas, master 1 for it was borrowed.

6 And the man of God faid, Where fell it? And he fhewed him the place. And he cut down a ftick, and caft it in thither; and the iron did fwim.

7 Therefore, faid he, Take it up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it.

8 Then the king of Syria warred againft Ifrael, and took counsel with his fervants, faying, In fuch and such a place all be my camp.

9 And the man of God fent unto the king of Ifrael, faying, Beware that thou pass not fuch a place; for thither the Syrians are come down.

10 And the king of Ifrael fent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice.

11 Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was fore troubled for this thing; and he called his fervants, and faid unto them, Will ye not fhew me which of us is for the king of Ifrael?

12 And one of his fervants faid, None, my lord, O king: but Elima, the prophet that is in Ifrael, telleth the king of lfrael the words that thou speakeft in thy bedchamber.

13 And he faid, Go and fpy where he is, that I may fend and fetch him. And it was told him, faying, Behold, be is in Dothan.

14 Therefore he fent thither horfes, and chariots, and a great hoft: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.

15 And when the fervant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth behold, an hoft compaffed the city both with horfes and chariots. And his fervant faid unto him, Alas my mafter! How shall we do?

16 And he answered, Fear not : for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

17 And Elifha prayed, and faid, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may fee. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man ; and he faw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elitha.

23 And he prepared great provision for them: and when they had eaten and drunk, he fent them away, and they went to their master. So the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Ifrael.

24 And it came to pafs after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and befieged Samaria. 25 And there was a great famine in Samaria: and. behold, they befieged it, until an afs's head was fold for fourfcore pieces of filver, and the fourth part of a cab of doves' dung for five pieces of filver. 26 And as the king of Ifrael was pafling by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, faying, Help, my lord, Oking. 27 And he faid, If the LORD do not help thee, Whence fhall I help thee? Out of the barn floor, or out of the wine prefs?

2 Then a lord on whofe hand the king leaned anfwered the man of God,and faid, Behold, If the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he faid, Behold, thou fhalt fee it with thine eyes, but fhalt not eat thereof.

3 And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they faid one to another, Why it we here until we die?

4 If we fay, we will enter into the city. then the famine is in the city, and we fhall die there: and if we fit ftill here, we die also. Now therefore, come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they fave us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.

5 And they rofe up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there.

$1 Then he faid, God do fo and more alfo to me, if the head of Elifba the son of Shaphat hall ftand on him this day.

32 But Elisha fat in his houfe, and the elders fat with him; and the king fent a man from before him: but ere the meffenger came to him, he faid to the elders, See ye how this fon of a murderer hath fent to take away mine head? Look, when the meffenger cometh, fhut the door. and hold him falt at the door: Is not the found of his master's feet behind him?

7 Wherefore they arofe and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horfes and their afles, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life.

8 And when thefe lepers came to the uttermoft part of the camp, they went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried ther ce filver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid it; and came again, and entered into another tent, and carried thence alfo, and went and hid it.

9 Then they faid one to another, We do not well this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, fome mifchief will come upon us now therefore, come, that we may go and tell the king's household.
