ANALECTIC MAGAZINE.

MARCH, 1817.

ART. I. A Journal of Science and the Arts, No. III. Edited at the Royal Institution of Great Britain, by William Thomas Brande, F.R.S. L. and E. Prof. Chem. R.I. Published Quarterly. London. October, 1816. 8vo. pp. 222. WE shall in future give a brief synopsis of each Number of

Art. II-A Report on a Memoir by Signor Monticelli, perpetual Secretary of the Royal Academy of Sciences of Naples, entitled, A description of the Eruptions of Vesuvius, which took place on the 25th and 26th of December, 1813.
