HE Lessons and Addresses herein contained

were written at different times for my own use in parochial visiting. I cannot lay claim to any great originality for them, as the ideas of some are, at least, founded on the writings of other clergymen, but the form in which they appear is my own.

Such as they are, I offer them to those who are engaged in parochial work, in the hope that they may be of some small service in comforting those who are in trouble, and in bringing thoughts to their minds which may make their bodily and mental trials profitable to their souls.
