Modern Political Ideologies

Portada
Wiley, 20 abr 2009 - 392 páginas
Thoroughly revised and updated, this new edition provides a comprehensive introduction to the major political ideologies of the past two centuries. After exploring the concept of 'ideology' itself, individual chapters are devoted to comprehensive accounts of liberalism, conservatism, socialism, anarchism, fascism, feminism, environmentalism and nationalism. Reflecting rapidly changing geopolitical events in the twenty-first century, a new chapter on fundamentalism is added to this edition, along with a greater emphasis on the global impact of ideologies

While retaining the popular text's accessible, user-friendly format, the author illustrates the complex overlap and interplay of ideas that exist both within and between individual ideologies. By incorporating the newest developments and scholarship in the field, this third edition will continue to provide students with one of the most highly respected surveys of the major political ideologies.
