Varla Ventura, author of Sheroes, Beyond Bizarre, and The Book of the Bizarre, and is a lover of all things odd and unusual and truly freaky. Her favorite holiday is Halloween, which she celebrates almost every day. She lives in the attic of an old Victorian in San Francisco.


Vicki Leon is the author of Uppity Women of the Renaissance, Uppity Women of Medieval Times Uppity, Uppity Women of the New World, and Women of Ancient Times. The author of seven wildlife books, six travel guides, and two children's books, Leon, who lives in Oregon, also delights in giving workshops and speeches on the unsung women in history.
