Thy Mercy is more than a Match for my Heart,
Which wonders to feel its own Hardness depart.
Diffolv'd by thy Prefence I fall to the Ground,
And weep to the Praife of the Mercy I found..

Thy Mercy in Jefus exempts me from Hell;
Of thy Mercy I'll fing, of thy Mercy I'll tell :
'Twas JESUS my Friend, when he hung on the Tree,
That open'd the Channel of Mercy for me.

Great Father of Mercies, thy Goodness I own,
And the Covenant-Love of thy crucify'd Son :
All Praife to the Spirit, whofe Whispers divine
Scal Mercy, and Pardon, and Righteousness mine.

HYMN CCLIX. L. M. "The Loving Kindness of the LORD." Ifa. lxiii. 7.

A

WAKE my Soul in joyful Lays,
And fing thy great Redeemer's Praife;
He juftly claims a Song from me.
His Loving Kindness is to Free.

He faw me ruin'd in the Fall,
And lov'd me notwithstanding all;
He fav'd me from my loft Eftate,
His Loving Kindness is fo Great."

When I was Satan's easy Prey, And deep in Debt and Bondage lay; He paid his Life for my Difcharge, His Loving Kindness is so Large.

Thro' many Hofts of mighty Foes,
Where Earth and Hell my Way oppose;
He fafely leads my Soul along,
His Loving Kindness is fo Strong.

Often I feel my finful Heart,
Prone from my JESUS to depart;
And tho' I have him oft forgot,
His Loving Kindness changes not.

When e'er I pass the gloomy Vale,
And all my mortal Powers fail;
Oh may my laft expiring Breath,
His Loving Kindness fing in Death.

HYMN CCLXI. 75.
Fleading the Atonement.

ATHER, GOD, who feeft in me
Only Sin and Misery;

View thine own anointed one,
Look on thy beloved Son

Turn from me thy glorious Eyes
To his bloody Sacrifice,
To the full Atonement made,
To the Ranfom he has paid.

Hear his Blood's prevailing Cry,
Let thy Bowels then reply;
Then thro' Him the Sinner fee,
Then in JESUS look on me.

CCLXII. L. M.

Firft and Second Adam.

EEP in the Duft, before thy Throne, Our Guilt and our Difgrace we own: Great God, we own th' unhappy Name, Whence fprung our Nature, and our Shame.

But whilft our Spirits fill'd with Awe,
Behold the Terrors of thy Law,
We fing the Honours of thy Grace,
That fent to fave our ruin'd Race.

We fing thine everlasting Son,
Who join'd our Nature to his own;
Adam, the fecond, from the Duft
Raifes the Ruins of the first.

Where Sin did reign, and Death abound,
There have the Sons of Adam found
Abounding Life; there glorious Grace
Reigns thro' the Lord our Righteoufnefs.

HYMN CCLXIII.

Humiliation.

LORD, we are vile, conceiv'd in Sin,

And born unholy and unclean :

Sprung from the Man whofe guilty Fall
Corrupts the Race, and taints us all.

Soon as we draw our Infant-Breath,
The Seeds of Sin grow up for Death;
Thy Law demands a perfect Heart,
But we're defil'd in ev'ry Part.

Behold, we fall before thy Face,
Our only Refuge is thy Grace;
No outward Forms can make us clean,
The Leprofy lies deep within.

JESUS, our GOD, thy Blood alone,
Hath Pow'r fufficient to atone ;

LORD, let us hear thy pard'ning Voice,
And make our down-caft Hearts rejoice.
