COLLE C T. Infirmitatem. AVE regard, O Almighty God, to our weaknefs, and, as we fink under the weight of our doings, let the glorious interceffion of bleffed N. thy Martyr and Bishop, be a protection to us. Thro'.

EPISTLE. James i. 12, 19. DEarly beloved, Bleffed is the man that endureth temptation for when he hath been proved, he fhall receive the crown of life, which God hath promifed to them that love him. Let no man, when he is tempted, fay that he is tempted by God; for God is not a tempter to evil; and he tempteth But every man is tempted, being drawn

away by his own concupifcence, and allured by it. Then when concupifcence hath conceived, it bringeth forth fin: but fin, when it is completed, begetteth death. Be not therefore deceived, my dearest brethren. Every best gift, and every perfect gift, is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change, nor fhadow of alteration. For of his own free will hath he begotten us by the word of truth, that we might be fome beginning of his creatures.

Thou haft given him his heart's defire: and haft not with-holden from him the request of his lips. V. For thou waft before-hand with him in the bleffings of fweetnefs. V. Thou haft fet on his head a crown of precious ftones.

For which of you, having a mind to build a tower, doth not first fit down and reckon the charges that are neceflary, whether he have wherewithal to finish it. Left after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that fee it begin to mock at him, faying: This man began to build, and was not able to finish. Or what king, about to go to war against another king, doth not first fit down and think, whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him, that with twenty thoufand cometh against him. Or elfe, while the other is yet a-far off, he fendeth an embaffy, and defireth conditions of peace. So likewife every one of you, that doth not renounce all that he poffeffeth, cannot be my disciple.

COLLECT. Deus, qui nos beati. God, who, by the yearly folemnity of bleffed' N. thy Martyr and Bifhop, rejoiceft the hearts of thy faithful: mercifully grant that we, who celebrate his martyrdom, may enjoy his protection. Thro'.

EPISTLE. 2 Cor. i. 3, 7.

BRethren: Bleffed be the God and Father of our Lord Jefus Chrift, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort, who comforteth us in all our tribulation; that we may also be able to comfort them, who are in any diftrefs, by that encou ragement, wherewith we are alfo comforted by God. For as the fufferings of Chrift abound in us: fo alfo thro' Chrift our comfort aboundeth.
