This is a companion volume to the reference, Political parties of the World, but it deals only with EU member states. It features detailed profiles of all parties of any significance, providing data on each party's history, character, support base, policies, leadership, electoral results and affiliations. For each country a general introduction puts the parties in their overall political, constitutional and electoral context. This volume is up to date to the beginning of 2000.
