Praise to the Conqueror, O praise to the Lord,
His word was our arrow, his breathi was our sword?
Who shall return to tell Egypt the story

Of those she sent forth in the hour of her pride?
For the Lord hath look'd out from his pillar of glory;
And all her brave thousands are dashed in the tide.
Sound the loud timbrel o'er Egypt's dark sea!
Jehovah has triumph'd, his people are free.

RECITATIVE.-Creation.-HAYDN

MR. BRAHAM,

And God created man in His own image, in the image of God created he hini, male and female created he them; he breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.

AİR.

In native grace and honour clad,
With reason, courage, strength adorn'd;
In conscions pride elate, he stands,
Erect and tall, the Lord and King of all;
His large and arched front sublime,
Declares him form'd for sovereign rule,
And in his eye majestic shines emblaz'd
The soul-the image of his God.
With fondness leans upon his breast,
The partner for him form'd ;
A woman fair, a tender spouse.
Her softly smiling virgin looks,
Of flow'ry spring the mirror,
Insure delight and endless love.

Let grateful songs and hymns to Heaven ascend:
In Gilgal, and on Jordan's banks proclaim,
One first, one great, one Lord Jehovah's name.

PSALM XXXIV. (New Version.)

St. Ann's Tune. CROFT.

MRS. KNYVETT, AND CHORUS.

Through all the changing scenes of life,
In trouble and in joy,

The praises of my God shall still
My heart and tongue employ.

Of his deliv'rance I will boast,
Till all who are distress'd
From my example comfort take
And charm their griefs to rest.

O magnify the Lord with me,
With me exalt his name;
When in distress to him I call'd

He to my rescue came.

O make but trial of his love,
Experience will decide

How blest are they, and only they,
Who in his truth confide.

RECITATIVE.-Theodora.-HANDEL.

MADAME CATALANI.

O worse than death indeed! Lead me, ye guards,
Lead me, or to the rack, or to the flames;

I'll thank your gracious mercy.

SONG.

Angels, ever bright and fair,

Take, O take me to your care;

Speed to your own courts my flight,

Clad in robes of virgin white.

CHORUS.-Beethoven.

Gloria in excelsis Deo; et in terra pax, hominibus bonæ voluntatis.

RECITATIVE.-Manoah.-SAMSON.

MISS STEPHENS.

Come, come; no time for lamentation now;
No cause for grief; Samson like Samson fell;
Both life and death heroic. To his foes
Ruin is left; to him eternal fame.

AIR.

Let the bright seraphim in burning row
Their loud, uplifted angel-trumpets blow:

Let the cherubic host in tuneful choirs,
Touch their immortal harps with golden wires.

CHORUS.

Let their celestial concerts all unite,

Ever to sound His praise in endless blaze of light.
