DID the woman believe what the serpent said about the tree of knowledge?

Did she eat of its fruit?

Did Adam eat of its fruit?

Which eat of it first, Adam or the woman? When they had eaten, what did they know, which they did not know before?

Were they ashamed of being naked?
Did they endeavour to cover their bodies

with any thing?

With what?

LESSON V.

From the 3d Chapter of Genesis.

AND the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

And he said, I heard thy voice in* the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did

eat.

And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did

eat.

LESSON V. QUESTIONS.

WHEN Adam had eaten of the forbidden fruit, God called unto him and said,

Where art thou? What did Adam reply? How came Adam to know that he was naked?

What did God next ask Adam?

How did Adam try to excuse his having

eaten?

LESSON VI.

From the 3d Chapter of Genesis.

AND the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it, cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it thou wast taken for dust thou art, and unto dust thou shalt return.

How did God punish the serpent?
How did God punish Adam?

When God forbid Adam to eat of the tree

of knowledge, what punishment did he threaten?

Did Adam die directly he eat &c.? Was he allowed to live in happiness till the time of his death?

Are men now obliged to labour, and cultivate the earth for their subsistence?
