The above volume is the first of twenty, into which the nine volumes of the original edition of Sanderson have been expanded.

The lives of the signers are arranged not as in the ordinary editions of the work, but geographically, according to states. The text of volume 1 includes the Preface and chapters to 6, pages i to clvi of the Introduction.

Other editions of Sanderson in the library are mentioned in the notes to the preceding list. The articles by Benson J. Lossing on The Signers of the Declaration of Independence in Harper's Magazine, vol. 47 (July, Aug., 1873) pp. 258, 424, have special reference to these volumes. See also Lyman C.
