ADVERTISEMENT. These poems were originally published in the UNITED STATES LITERARY GAZETTE. In their present form, they constitute a volume of American Poetry, which can hardly fail to be acceptable to that portion of the public, who take a peculiar interest in this department of our literature. As the different pieces are the productions of several authors, and of a very miscellaneous character, it was not thought expedient to attempt any systematic arrangement of them.
