J. is the most conspicuous name in the long list of eminent composers who, during the first half of the eighteenth century, were the outcome and ornament of that Neapolitan school which had become famous under A. A contemporary MS. note states that the author the first work is Phillip Melanchton, and a later n on fly-leaf states that this was the first of the Chur Ordinances issued for the Duchy of Mecklenburg. T second is the Church Ordinances for Hall in Suab MS. additions at end give a copy of the "Consens inter theologos et professores in ecclesia et Scho Argentoratensi factus, Anno D. 1563, die 18 Marcij with a list of the signatories thereto.
