Pralın ixxxix. 30, 31, 32. If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judements; if they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments : then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.

2. Psalm lxxxix. 2, 3, 4. For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens. I have made a covenant with my chosen ; I have sworn unto David, my servant Thy leed will I establith for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Ver. 28, 29. My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him. His feed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven. Jer. xxxii. 40. And'I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them goodl; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

Cburcb of Cbrift ; or, the Flesh and Spirit described fram inanimate Tbing's, Vegetables and Sensitives. To tell the world my proper name,

Is both my glory and my shame; 4

A standing lake 6, a running flood, 7

A fixed star 8, a passing cloud. 9 on the earth. 1 Pet. ii. 21. Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, &c.

i Phil. iii. 20. For our conversation is in heaven, from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 2 Cor. v. 1, 2. For we know, that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan earnestly, defiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven. Ver. 4. For we in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened : not for that we should be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

9 Hofea : 1. Israel is an empty vine, he bringech forth fruit unto himself.

10 Plalm i. 3. And he thall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth fruit in his fealon ; his leaf allo ihall not wither, and what. foever he doth shall prosper.

11 Ezek. xvii. 5,6. He (viz. a great eagle) took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful field, he placed it by great waters, and set it as a willow-tree. And it grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and the roots thereof were under him: to ic became a vine, and brought forth branches, and thot forth sprigs. Ver. 24. And all the trees of the field shall know that I the Lord have brought down the high-tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green cree, and. have made the dry tree to Hourish : I the Lord have spoken and have dove it. Mark iv. 30, 31. And Jelus faid, Whereunto Thail we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison thall we compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which when it is lowa in the earth, is less thaa all the seeds that be in the earth.

12 Pfalm xcii. 12. The righteous shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

13 Micah vii. 4. The belt of them is as a brier; the molt upright is sharper than a thorn-hedge.

14 lía. xlii. 19. I will set in the desast the fir-erce, and the pine, and the box-trce together,

1 John xv. 4. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine ; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. Ver. 6. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered.

2 John xv. 5. I am the vine, ye are the branches : he that abidech in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit : for without me ye can do nothing. Song ii. 13. The fig-tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell

. Ver. 15. Take us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines : for our vines have tender grapes.

3 lfa. Iv. 13. Instead of the thorn thall come up the fir-tree; and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle-tree: and it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign thai thall not be cut off. And lx. 13. The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir-tree, the pine-tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my fanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.

4 Mat. xii. 7. And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye into the wilderness to see ? A reed thaken with the wind?

5 Isa. vi 13. But yet in it thall be a tenth, and it shall return, and it shall be eaten : as a teil.tree, and as an oak whole subltance is in them, when they caft their leaves : fo the holy feed shall be the fubftance thereof.
