THERE is one Lord, one faith, one baptism. I (John) indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he (Jesus) that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear; he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire. Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbade him, saying, I have need to be haptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus, answering, said unto him, suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. And Jesus when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water.
John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. And then went out to him all the land of Judea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing

God is not unrighteous to forget your work of labour and love, which ye have shewed towards his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints.
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give, not grudgingly, or of necessity. for God loveth a cheerful giver.
If there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath.
Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in than all they which have cast into the treasury: for all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
Whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones, a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, He shall in no wise lose his reward.

And I brake the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth.
The righteous hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor He is ever merciful and lendeth ; and his seed is blessed.
