OBSERVATIONS ON THE WEATHER.

The barometer has not fluctuated much; it rose gradually till the 1st or 2d of May: it then subsided till the 6th, on which day it was at the lowest during the period: from | that time it rose till the 11th, when the mercury stood the highest: it then fell again gradually till nearly the end of the period. The prevailing winds have been easterly; and the hemisphere obscured by a large proportion of clouds.-The quantity of rain is but 1 inch and 1-10th, and that principally in 4 days. The thermometer indicated the highest temperature on May 1, and the lowest on the 10th: on the whole, the weather has been unseasonably cold, the|| In average of the month being but 49. 2. the last table was an error in quantity of rain fallen, the decimal point between the figures having been omitted; it ought to have been 1.6inches, that is, 1 inch and 6-10.

TO CORRESPONDENTS.

The Editor feels himself much obliged by the attention of WILL. HONEYCOMB, whose favour is intended to form the Vth No, of The EAST ANGLIAN SPECTATOR.

For the Spectatorial department, the Editor has also the pleasure of acknow ledging the receipt of a very humorous epistle from MARTHA MIDDLE-AGE, and a sensible letter from INFORTUNATA, on the subject of injudicious marriages; both of which are reserved for insertion. The

space which has been devoted to the important communication of AGRICOLAS, on the Corn Question, has occasioned the omission of some of the heads of The EAST ANGLIAN, and of several miscellaneous artioles from Correspondents.

The remainder of the poetry of S. T. and of J. J******, will appear next month. The Essay, favoured by S. T. is reserved for a future occasion.

The Nobility, Gentry, Clergy, &c. of the County of Suffolk, are

respectfully informed, that
