"The Laws of the Church, whereby for so many ages together we have been guided in
the exercise of Christian Religion, and the service of the true God, our Rites, Customs, and
Orders of Ecclesiastical Government, are called in question,-Behold, therefore, we offer
the Laws, whereby we live, unto the general trial and judgment of the whole world."

Hooker's "Ecclesiastical Polity," Book I.

"The more the Church of England is examined, the greater will her value appear to the
sober and impartial observer; the blemishes which are visible on her surface will often be
viewed but as spots on the sun, which, whether discoverable by the naked eye, or to be seen
only when curiously sought for with deep research and high magnifying powers, do not in
either case greatly obscure his lustre, and have still less effect in diminishing the blessings
which he scatters in his train, as he passes serene and unimpeded on his daily course to warın
and enlighten, and invigorate the world."
Wilks's "Correlative Claims and Duties," p. 104.

The entire Profits arising from the sale of this Work will be given to the "Incorporated Society
for promoting the Enlargement, Building, and Repairing of Churches and Chapels."
