The riders of Cannobie and Jack Sheppard made a charge of crossing against the rider of Saraband. The case was partly heard after the races on Tuesday, and adjourned to Wednesday, at twelve o'clock, when, after hearing further evidence, the following decision was given:

"The Stewards of the Jockey Club having heard the evidence in the Burwell Stakes case, are of opinion that the charge of crossing is proved, and that Cannobie is entitled to the stakes. "H. Rous, for Ld. Zetland. "ANGLESEY."

The Keeper of the Match-book subsequently received a notice from Mr. Pedley not to pay

over the stakes.
