This rare edition has neither place, date, nor printer. From the preface it appears that it was the first edition published in Svo, the earlier editions being 4to. It is probably circa 1560, in which year Giunta published an edition of the Galateo. The B. M. has a slightly later issue with "new edition" on the title page, which it is supposed was part of the works issued under the title "Rime e Prose." The Bibliography of these works is exceedingly confused but it is possible that Il Galateo was published separately, and that the sheets were then used as part of the Works.
