Applying a gender-aware analysis to macroeconomics, this book on restructuring and adjustment presents a global picture, highlighting the similarities and contradictions in gender relations arising out of the restructuring process. The contributors consider macroeconomic methods and policies in order to propose elements of a more gender-aware economics. Whilst some fall within the neo-classical framework, others suggest an epistemological break with the homogenizing thrust of Western economism towards multiple objective worlds, each with their own validity.
