Early in this term, Mr. Justice Holroyd resigned his seat in this Court, which he had occupied more than twelve years, and was succeeded by James Parke, of the Inner Temple, Esq. who was called to the degree of the coif, and gave rings with the motto, "Justitiæ tenax." Mr. Justice James Parke took his seat in this Court on Tuesday, the 18th day of November, and was afterwards knighted. Thomas Denman, Esq. having received a patent of precedence, took his seat within the bar. |
