*** PREPARING FOR PUBLICATION, Engraved Specimens of Architectural Antiquities in Normandy, drawn by A. Pugin, Architect, and engraved by J. and H. Le Keux.

During the summer of 1824, Mr. Pugin, with some of his pupils, visited Normandy, for the purpose of making Sketches of the fine architectural remains of that country. The collection he has brought home is numerous and highly interesting: the drawings are all accurately taken in plan, elevation, and section, with measurements and details at large; and therefore will afford authentic data for antiquarian reference, and for architectural information. From Abbaye aux Dames, the Church of St. Nicholas, Abbaye aux Hommes, and the Palace of "William the Conqueror" at Caen, we shall derive evidences of the true Norman characteristics of architecture; and other places will afford collateral and additional examples. At Rouen we have specimens of the early pointed; and from the Cathedral, the Church of St. Ouen, Abbey St. Amand, Palais de Justice, &c. &c. in the same city, will be obtained examples of the elaborate, florid, and peculiar architecture of the North of France. Messrs. J. and H. Le Keux (from whom we understand the work originated) having shares in the work, and having undertaken to engrave the whole of the plates, we may be satisfied that they will be skilfully and tastefully executed. The work will form a valuable companion to Pugin's "Specimens of Gothic Architecture," and will be illustrative of a country once intimately allied to ancient England. As these buildings have not hitherto been given geometrically and scientifically, this work cannot fail of exciting the attention of the antiquary and architect.

The work will consist of at least eighty-eight Engravings, with historical and descriptive accounts of the buildings illustrated. It will be published in four numbers, at either 21 or 25 shillings each, medium 4to. and two guineas, imperial 4to. with the first impressions of the plates. Ten sets will be published with proofs on India paper. No. 1. will appear in

June next.

Further particulars may be known by application to
Mr. PUGIN, to the ENGRAVER'S, or to Mr. BRITTON.
