Printer's device and 17 small woodcuts ILLUMINATED IN GOLD AND COLORS, gold borders, and illuminated initials throughout; on the recto of the last leaf is A CURIOUS REBUS, the answer to which is given in a verse of 8 lines, in praise of the Virgin. Narrow 8vo, old red morocco, gilt borders on the sides, gilt edges, in an old brown morocco case, with inlays of red morocco, richly tooled and gilt.

Roman characters red and black. 168 leaves (A-012). 14 fine small cuts, and each page surrounded by woodcut borders of flowers, fruits, butterflies, etc., introducing the Salamander, the crowned monograms of Francis I and Louise of Savoy, and the arms of France and Savoy. 12mo, contemporary French binding in calf, the sides in compartments formed by interlaced bands painted black and grey and outlined in gold, the intervening spaces filled with pointillé, or having gilt and painted arabesques, chased silver clasps, gilt edges, in a morocco case (joints and corners restored).
