Nations, among which they inhabited lay hold of the Skirt of him that is a Jew, faying, we will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.

Which is all manifeftly alluded to in the Prophecy of the Prophet Daniel, under the Emblem of a Stone that was cut out of a Mountain without Hands, which fmote the Image upon his Feet, which were of Iron and Clay, that is, the Roman Empire, and brake them to Pieces. Which Stone the Prophet explains to represent a Kingdom that the God of Heaven shall fet up, which shall never be destroyed; nor fball be left to other People; that is, in which there fhall be no Succeffion of Princes, For this Kingdom fhall be given to * one like the Son of Man, who shall come in the Clouds of Heaven, and to him shall be given Dominion and Glory, and a Kingdom, THAT ALL PEOPLE AND NATIONS AND LANGUAGES SHOULD SERVE HIM: Whofe Dominion is an everlasting Dominion which shall not pass away, and his

Kingdom that which shall not be deftroyed. And the Kingdom, and Dominion, and Greatness of the Kingdom under the whole Heaven fhall be given to the People of the Saints of the most high, and all Dominions fball ferve and obey him, whofe Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom.

Now as it is manifeft that this Dominion is to be given to one like the Son of Man, who fhall come in the Clouds of Heaven, and that all People and Nations, and Languages fhall ferve him. Therefore it follows, that this Son of Man must first have died, before he can thus appear in the Clouds of Heaven, and that his Kingdom is not confined to the Seed of Abraham, but that all People and Nations, and Languages, will be equally received as the Members of it.

It likewise further appears that this is to be a spiritual Kingdom, the Happiness of which will confift in Righteousness and Peace, and fuch other Joys as may-arife from the reftraining, rather than indulging, our Paffions. And although it may be allowed that those happy Mortals who are alive

alive at that Period of Time, may be pleased and delighted with all those earthly Enjoyments which are confiftent with a Life of Purity and Holiness; Yet it seems inconfiftent with the Happiness either of the Meffiah, or of Abraham or Ifaac, or Jacob, or any of the rest of those bleffed Spirits, which attend him in this his triumphant Appearance, to imagine them capable of relishing, or being delighted with any of the Enjoyments which this World can afford; further than their being delighted with seeing and contributing to the Happiness of those Persons who being then alive, fhall be converted to, or established in the Acknowledgment of this their Meffiah, and fhall by living agreeably to the Laws of his Kingdom, enjoy all the Happiness that a Life of Righteousness, in the midft of Peace and Plenty can produce upon Earth.

It ought likewife to be further confidered, that although the Time of the Meffiah's coming, is spoken of in the Books of Mofes, and by the Prophets Haggai, Malachi and Daniel, as being before the Sceptre

fhall depart from Judah, and before the Destruction of the second Temple, yet the Time of his Appearance in a triumphant State, when the final Reftauration of the Jews is to take Place, is always fpoken of as being at a great distance of Time, in the latter Times, and in the last Days: And as fucceeding after a second and much severer Difperfion and Diftrefs, than what the Jews fuffered at Babylon, or at any Time before the Deftruction of the fecond Temple. For thus faith the Prophet Ezekiel xxxviii. 8. AFTER MANY DAYS thou shalt be vifited, IN THE LATTER YEARS, thou shalt come into the Land, that is brought back from the Sword, and that is gathered out of many People, against the Mountains of Ifrael which have been long wafte. And the Prophet Ifaiah ii. 2. faith, It shall come to pass IN THE LAST DAYS, that the Mountain of the Lord's Houfe shall be eftablished in the Top of the Mountains, and shall be exalted above the Hills; and ALL NATIONS shall flow to it. And in another Place he declares that this Event of the exaltation of the Root of

Fefe fhall not come to pafs till after a second Restoration of the Jews, from a much more violent and general Difperfion than that of Babylon, For, faith he, Ifai. xi. 10, 12. And it shall come to pafs in that Day the Lord shall fet his Hand again A SECOND TIME to recover the Remnant of his People, which shall be left, from Affyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the Ifands of the Sea. And he shall fet up AN ENSIGN FOR THE NATIONS, and fball affemble the Out cafts of Ifrael, and gather together the Outcasts of Judah, from the four Corners of the Earth. And the Prophets * Ifaiah and Micah fay,

But IN THE LAST DAYS it fall come to pass that the Mountain of the House of the Lord, shall be eftablished in the Top of the Mountains, and it shall be exalted above the Hills, and ALL PEOPLE shall flow unto and MANY NATIONS shall come and fay, let us go up to the Mountain of the Lord,
