Mr. President: The House of Representatives has agreed to the amendments of the Senate to the bill (H.R. 9311) to continue for 2 years the suspension of duty on certain alumina and to make permanent the suspension of duty on certain bauxite.

EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE TO CHILDREN OF VETERANS

The PRESIDING OFFICER (Mr. WALTEES in the chair› laid before the Senate the message yesterday received from the House of Representatives announcing its action on certain amendments of the Senate to the bill H.R. 221) to amend chapter 35 of title 38. United States Code. to provide educational assistance to the children of veterans who are permanently and totally disabled from an injury or disease arising out of active military, naval, or air service during a period of war or the induction period.

On motion by Mr. YARBOROUGH, Resolved, That the Senate recede from its amendments Nos. 3 and 4 to the said bill and agree to the amendment of the House to the amendment of the Senate numbered 6.
