Isaiah's Vision Explained and Applied.—Isaiah vi. 5—8. “ Then said I, woe
is me! for I am undone because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell
among a people of unclean lips! for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord
of Hosts:-Then flew one of the Seraphim unto me, having a live coal in
his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar; and he laid

On Repentance.-Acts xxvi, 19, 20. "Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was
not disobedient to the heavenly vision; but shewed first unto them of Da-
mascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judea, and then
to the Gentiles, that they should repent, and turn to God, and do works
meet for repentance." wwww 373
Final Retribution of Believers and Unbelievers.-Romans ü. 5-9. " Who
will render to every man according to his deeds; to them, who, by patient
continuance in well-doing, seek for glory, honour, and immortality, eternal
life; but unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey
unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, upon every
soul of man that doeth evil.'
Inefficacy of Hearing without Practising the Word.-James i. 22-25. "But
be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man be-
holding his natural face in a glass. For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his
way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso
looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a
forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed." 444
