2 The virgin of Ifrael is fallen, the fhall no more rife: fhe is forfaken upon her land, there is none to raise her up.

3 For thus faith the Lord GOD, The city that went out by a thousand, fhall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred, fhall leave ten to the house of Ifrael.

4 For thus faith the LORD unto the house of Ifrael, Seek ye me, and ye fhall live.

5 But feek not a Beth-el, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to b Beer-fheba: for Gilgal Thall furely go into captivity, and Beth-el shall come to nought.

6 Seek the LORD and ye fhall live, left he break out like fire in the houfe of Jofeph and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Beth-el.

7 Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteoufnefs in the earth,

8 Seek him that maketh the e feven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night that calleth for the waters of the fea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth, the LORD is his name:
