Bound up with the above is Ton and Antiquity, a Comedy in two Acts, Oxford, The Road to Ridicule, Oxford and Prologues and Epilogues, Oxford (1797-9) (all by Thos. Streatfeild). Inserted in this collection are three original water-color drawings, by the same artist (one being a portrait of the author), also a mezzotint portrait of the author.

* A very fine and amusing letter criticising Darwin's Botanic Garden, mentioning Mrs. Garrick whom he met at a play of Conway's, and concluding by ridiculing a writer who criticised his "Royal and Noble Authors."

* A presentation copy to Benjamin Bagster, from Samuel Bagster, his father, with the autograph of the latter on a fly-leaf. John Bagster extra-illustrated the book, and suppressed the

original title, substituting four drawn in colors, dated 1838. Some of the poor and undesirable prints were rejected when the book was rebound.

It is now EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED BY THE INSERTION OF NEARLY 100 ORIGINAL WATER-COLOUR DRAWINGS, landscapes, fish, etc., by Shepherd, Wale and others, in addition to NUMEROUS VIGNETTES PAINTED IN THE TEXT, the woodcuts being colored throughout; the other extra illustrations, over 200, comprise proofs, sometimes in four or five states, rare old copper-plate portraits by Hollar, Faithorne, Hole, etc., and such original embellishments as would naturally come into the possession of the publisher.
