The PRESIDING OFFICER (Mrs. NEUBERGER in the chair) laid before the Senate the message heretofore received from the House of Representatives, announcing its disagreement to the amendments of the Senate to the bill (H.R. 8134) to authorize the sale of the mineral estate in certain lands, and asking a conference with the Senate thereon.

The PRESIDING OFFICER laid before the Senate the message heretofore received from the House of Representatives, announcing its disagreement to the amendment of the Senate to the bill (HR. 10566) to provide for the withdrawal and orderly disposition of mineral interests in certain public lands in Pima County, Ariz., and asking a conference with the Senate thereon.

On motion by Mr. METCALF, Resolved, That the Senate insist upon its amendment to the said bill, disagreed to by the House of Representatives, and agree to the conference asked by the House on the disagreeing votes of the two Houses thereon.

REVENUE ACT OF 1962

The Senate resumed the consideration of its unfinished business, viz, the bill (H.R. 10650) to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 to provide a credit for investment in certain depreciable property, to eliminate certain defects and inequities, and for other purposes.

The bill was further amended on the motion of Mr. COTTON and the motion of Mr. SPARKMAN.
