The PRESIDENT pro tempore laid before the Senate resolutions of the Knights of St. John, in convention at Cleveland, Ohio, and the General Federation of Women's Clubs, Washington, D.C., favoring an amendment to the Constitution of the United States which would clarify the status of religion in relation to government and prayers in public schools; which were referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.

Mr. CLARK presented a resolution of the Descendants of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence, in convention in Paris, France, favoring the 200th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence being celebrated with a world's fair in Philadelphia, Pa.; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.
