Portada
EURYDICE, European Unit, 2001 - 151 páginas
This publication offers a summary overview of initiatives to promote lifelong education and training that have actually been implemented in various European countries. Six chapters describe initiatives that are supporting and promoting lifelong learning, either at a European or national level, in accordance with the six key messages (KMs) spelled out by the European Commission Memorandum on Lifelong Learning adopted in 2000. The KMs are: new basic skills for all; more investment in human resources; innovation in teaching and learning; valuing learning; rethinking guidance and counseling; and bringing learning closer to home. Each chapter is devoted to one KM and has these components: KM as described in the memorandum; summary of actions at the European level; overview of actions at the European level; and three or four specific initiative categories into which the KM has been divided, each of which includes a summary of actions in national initiatives followed by overviews of the national initiatives.
