An ADMONITION to all fuch as fhall intend hereafter to enter the State of Matrimony godly and agreeably to Laws: with Tables of Confanguinity and Affinity: fet forth by the moft Reverend Father in God, Matthew Parker, Archbishop of Canterbury, Primate of England and Metropolitan. 1563.

FIRST, That they contract not with fuch perfons as be hereafter expreffed, nor with any of like degree, against the law of God, and the laws of the realm. Secondly, That they make no fecret contracts, without confent or counfel of their parents or elders, under whofe authority they be, contrary to God's laws and man's ordinances.

Thirdly, That they contract not anew with any other upon divorce and feparation made by the Judge for a time, the laws yet ftanding to the contrary.

MARRIAGE is bonoura

ble among all men, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. Heb. xiii. 4.

To avoid fornication, let every man have his wife, and let every woman have her husband. He that cannot contain, let him marry: for better it is to marry than to burn. I Cor. vii. 2, 9.

Unto the married I command, not I, but the Lord: Let not the wife depart from her husband; but if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled unto her bufband. And let not the bufband put away his wife. 1 Cor. vii. 10, II.

IT T is to be noted, That those persons which be in the direct line afcendent and defcendent, cannot marry together, although they be never fo far afunder in degree.

II. It is alfo to be noted, That Confanguinity and Affinity (letting and diffolving Matrimony) is contracted as well in them and by them which be of kindred by the one fide, as in and by them which be of kindred by both fides.
