However patronised,

At the protection of Truth,

However slighted,

And therein at the Vindication of an estimable,

But much-maligned Class of the National Clergy, Are respectfully and affectionately submitted: With an humble petition

То "THE FATHER OF LIGHTS,"

That the Author's sentiments,

If wrong, may be corrected,

Or, if right, may be furthered and prosper, By God's blessing,

To the peace and edifying of His Church.
