BILIOUS, NERVOUS, AND LIVER COMPLAINTS.

R. SYDENHAM'S ANTIBILIOUS or FAMILY PILLS.-These Pills (entirely Vegetable) are invaluable in Bilious and Liver Complaints, Gout, Indigestion, Flatulencies, Habitual Costiveness, Spasms, Nervous Headaches, &c. Mild, yet effectual, in their operation, without mercury or mineral, and requiring no restraint in diet or confinement during their use, possessing the power to clear the intestines of the bile which may be acting offensively to them, at the same time correcting and improving the secretion, without increasing the quantity secreted. Females find the occasional use of them materially beneficial to their general health, as their purely vegetable composition is not likely to disagree with the most delicately constituted stomach. Nothing can show their superiority more than the approval of families of distinction, as well as the public in general, and medical men in present practice. (See the opinion of an eminent Physician, as an irrefragable proof of their efficacy, practising extensively at Clifton and Bristol, on the wrapper surrounding each box of pills.) And the increasing sale of Sydenham's Antibilious Pills prove them the most valuable, safe, and effectual Medicine estant. Persons of either sex, going to or residing in hot climates, those leading sedentary lives, Naval and Military Men, and Commercial Gentlemen, will find them a certain assistant to repel the attacks of discase arising from neglect, intemperance, and want of exercise, or the effects of climate. One Pill may be taken at any time when a sense of fulness or uneasiness in the stomach is felt, arising from Flatulency, &c., and is admirably calculated to assist the digestion, correct excesses of the table, and give a healthy

action to the stomach.

On the Large Boxes Purchasers will find a considerable saving. CAUTION-See the name J. Rees, Bristol, on the Government Stamp, affixed to each Box. None can be Genuine without. And the Public will do well to be particular, as spurious Medicines, under similar titles, are too often attempted to be vended by designing persons.

ARRATIVE of a JOURNEY from CALCUTTA to EUROPE, by Way

"We have no hesitation in recommending Mrs. Lushington's Journal to our readers as a pleasing and interesting little volume. The shape in which it has been brought out, combining cheapness with elegance, is also worthy of approbation."-Oriental Herald.

ROWLAND'S MACASSAR OIL.

The ORIGINAL and solely GENUINE, which, during a long series of years has sustained the highest rank, universally, in public estimation.

This justly celebrated Oil possesses, as illustrated by daily experience, not only re-productive and preservative, but creative properties, realizing the growth of Hair on the Head. As strengthening, beautifying, and rendering impervious to time the Human Hair, this pure Vegetable Oil stands unrivalled in the annals of useful and elegant discovery: its superior worth is confirmed by Imperial and Royal Patronage, and perhaps not less so, by innumerous imitations.

' GENTLEMEN,-In consequence of the good effects of your Macessar Oil, I have it in command from his Imperial Majesty the EMPEROR OF ALL THE RUSSIAS, that yon will, without delay, send the sum of ten guineas worth to the Emperor of Russia, St. Petersburgh, and receive the amount of the same from his Highness Prince de Lieven, his Majesty's Ambassador at the Court of Great Britain. I have the honour to be, Gentlemen, your most obedient servant, JAMES WYLIE.

An extract of a Letter a Gentleman in London has received from a friend at Naples, dated

May 6, 1923.

'I must turn your attention to the following:-Captain Kranshaar, of the 4th regt. of line, in the service of his Imperial Majesty the Emperor of Austria, aged 44, has been bald since the age of 18. He was recommended to try Rowland's Macassar Oil, by a Gentleman who had already experienced its good effects, and persevered in applying it. In less than two months his hair grew on the bald parts, and is now very thick. The Captain is highly pleased, and has spread its fame.'

ROWLAND'S KALYDOR, FOR THE SKIN AND COMPLEXION. Its Soothing and Meliorative Properties immediately allay the smarting irritability of the skin, reduce the most violent inflammation, remove all cutaneous imperfection whatsoever; array the neck, hands, and arms, in matchless whiteness; bestow on the complexion a juvenile bloom; renovate beauty when on the decline, realize it where before absent, and sustain it in pristine splendour to the latest periods of life. HE CAT AND THE BOOT; or, AN IMPROVEMENT UPON MIR

THE

RORS.

As I one morning shaving sat,
For dinner-time preparing,
A dreadful howling from the Cat
Set all the room a staring!

Sudden I turn'd-beheld a scene
I could not but delight in;
For in by boot, so bright and clean,
The Cat her face was fighting.

Bright was the boot-its surface fair,
In lustre nothing lacking;

I never saw one half so clear,

Except by WARREN'S BLACKING.

Warren! that name shall last as long
As beaus and belles shall dash on,
Immortalized in every song

That chaunts the praise of fashion.

For oh! without his Blacking, all
Attempts we may abolish
To raise upon our boots at all
The least of jet or polish.)

Surpris'd, its brilliancy I view'd
With silent admiration;
The glass that on the table stood
Wax'd dimly in its station.

I took the boot, the glass displac'd,
For soon I was aware,

The latter only was disgrac'd
Whene'er the boot was near.

And quickly found that I could shave
Much better by its bloom,

Than any mirror that I have
Within my drawing-room.

And since that time I've often smil'd

To think how Puss was frighten'd,

When at the boot she tugg'd and toil'd,
By Warren's Blacking brighten'd.

This easy-shining and brilliant Blacking, prepared by ROBERT WARREN, 30, Strand, London; and sold in every town in the kingdom.

Liquid, in Bottles,-6d.-10d.-12d.—and 181. each; also Paste Blacking, in Pots,-6d.-12d-and 18d. each.
