Religious architecture cannot be like the abstract art and other many artistic languages influenced by the Modern Movement. It must give sensible form to the rites that characterize the essence of the Church. This can be an almost limitless variety of forms, but all these will lack meaning if their origins are not clearly understood, and only history can give us the key of its genesis.
